Granite fabrication in India involves multiple steps:

  • Inspection --It includes selection, CAD drawings and engineering analysis. The slab, ie the type of stone, its color, characteristics and strength is all selected on the basis of what’s required. Computer-aided design(CAD) software is used to model a 2D or 3D version of what the slab is to be made into. The model helps with the manufacturing of the raw material into desired products.
  • Cutting and assembly - Either with a Water jet or Bridge saw or a combination of both, the slab is cut into comparatively smaller portions. The procedure is conducted with the help of a CAD model and with software into which the model has been embedded. After cutting comes assembly, where all the individual pieces, with the help of a vacuum lifting machine, are placed on the CNC machine for further processes.
  • Fabrication - According to the requirements of the space for which the product is being manufactured, templates are confirmed. Templates can be for a sink, a shelf, or a counter. These templates are cut out on the CNC(Computer Numerical Control) machine accordingly, with a speed of 4 to 7 minutes per cutout. Physical trials and quality checks would happen immediately afterward.
  • Polishing and edging -Each and every edge in the final product is blunt out by the pneumatic–water sander, making it smooth and fit for residential purposes. The CNC also polishes the stone using seven wet polishing pads used simultaneously. The dampened Polishing pads don't cause friction and quite easily smoothes out the entire surface.
  • Packing and Dispatching -After the product has been cleaned, tested, edged, and polished it is packed as a whole in a pinewood crate. The process is carried out with utmost caution so that there are no scratches when it is opened up to installation. The packed crates are then dispatched to their respective locations and to the clients.
